Answers to the most common questions.
Q: What are your hours?
A: The Evening Program is open 6:00 PM-11:00 PM Friday and Saturday nights, October through May. The Tutoring Program, Above and Beyond, is held in the Chelan High School Library Monday through Friday from 3:30 PM-5:00 PM.
Q: Where is the Chelan Teen Center located?
A: We are located at 206 North Emerson, downstairs in the Lake Chelan United Methodist Church. Our entry is off the alley between the church and Lake Chelan Clinic.
Q: What happens at the Teen Center?
A: Fun, mostly! The Teen Center has a variety of games, including two pool tables, a foosball table and an air-hocky table. We also have cards, puzzles and many board games. It isn't uncommon to find a movie playing on the TV, either. Beyond that, the Teen Center also sponsors various arts and crafts projects. For example, we provided tiles and paint for the kids to decorate. Once complete, the tiles were fired by All Fired Up in Chelan and were used to retile the game table at the Teen Center.
Q: What are the requirements for youth participating at the Teen Center?
A: The Center is open to all students from Middle School through High School age. A participation form is filled out upon first attending the Teen Center which outlines the rules and guidelines for behaviour while in attendance.
Q: Who supervises the teens?
A: A minimum of 2 adult trained supervisors are present at all times. When possible we like to have at least 3 adults available during the busy periods.
Volunteers are welcome.
Q: What are the requirements for being a Supervisor or volunteer?
A: All supervisors and volunteers must fill out an application form and clear a State Patrol background check. Training and orientation are scheduled as needed.
